Get to Know the Training Fund:
The Local 509—Commonwealth Human Service Workers Training Fund was established in 2020 and provides three key programs for all public sector members throughout the year:
- Training Program: The fund delivers a comprehensive and diverse program of high quality, worker centric trainings.
- Grant Program: Individual and group grants enable workers to pursue their own identified professional development goals.
- Scholarship Program: Every year the fund distributes more than $200,000 in scholarships to members and their dependents.
