Our state workers are dedicated to providing the best in human services to individuals and families across Massachusetts. Through their work, they strive to ensure the well-being of some of the most vulnerable in our communities. Get to Know the Training Fund:

The Local 509—Commonwealth Human Service Workers Training Fund was established in 2020 and provides three key programs for all public sector members throughout the year:

• Training Program: The fund delivers a comprehensive and diverse program of high quality, worker centric trainings.
• Grant Program: Individual and group grants enable workers to pursue their own identified professional development goals.
• Scholarship Program: Every year the fund distributes more than $200,000 in scholarships to members and their dependents.
